1. Online Class - Online Class is a wonderful classroom resource, especially for a teacher who is new to the WWW. It's not inexpensive, but well worth the research and links that come with each site. I have used the Mythos and the Balloteers classes, and my students have been very happy with the results. Their work has been published on the school webpage within Online Class, and the quality of the links available for the students to use for research is extremely high. (My students' election newspaper is here.) 2. Chapbooks - this is a wonderful blend of old technology and new. Chapbooks publishes low cost books of student writing, but the submission and proofs are all handled over the Internet. The teacher registers as an editor and types in the text of the book. Add your art, and at the press of a button, see your proofs professionally typset. Revise until you are happy, and you can publish your work as a password protected ezine or order it printed in hardcopy. There is no minimum order for Chapbooks, and the price varies by the number of copies ordered. |
