Yesterday, the ferocious Firedrake was killed by Beowulf, Wiglaf, and the help of at least the help of 6 large hives of bees.
The Firedrake had needed to be exterminated for a very long time, but it had never occurred to anyone that it had been living right on top of the mountain for all of these years... at least until an escaped slave climbed up the mountain, slipped into his cave, and stole a jeweled cup. Experts conclude that this probably caused the firedrake to become provoked, burning down the village in the process.
What people are still baffled about is how Beowulf and Wiglaf were able to kill the Firedrake with no swords or weapons of any kind. Hundreds of detectives have been hired to inspect the cave and try to figure out this mystery. To join this hunt for truth, report to the castle or call 1-800-FIR-DRAK.
On a less pleasant note, although the Firedrake was killed in the process, we have paid dearly for its death. Beowulf was killed yesterday, supposedly burnt to death by the Firedrake. Before he left us though, he dedicated this song to the slaying of the Firedrake.
