3 gold pieces
 By staff reporter Jill E.
On the night of May 30, an intruder entered hall Heorot. Sources close to the hall report hearing the sound of ice crunching under foot around the time the intruder entered the hall.
After the second entry by this mystery intruder, Hrothgar stated that this person or thing had killed 30 of his men. Beowulf decided he would try to take on this horrible thing.

So a few nights later Beowulf stayed up waiting for this person. He reported the door swinging open and a horrid creature with green eyes staring back. Beowulf held on to the monsters

arm and ripped it off leaving the monster to bleed to death. Beowulf hung the arm from the rafters and was happy he had come out of the battle victorious. He stayed with the king and would be leaving in two days for his homeland.
